Professional Baseball Player, Actor. He played professional baseball between the years 1939 to 1952 where he was known as Bernie or Johnny. He played 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Left Field and Short Stop for the St. Louis Browns in 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1946, 1947, 1951. He played 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Short Stop for the Cleveland Indians in 1948, 1949, 1950, 1952. He played 2nd and 3rd for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1950 and 1952. After an injury and retirement, he turned to acting full time, and was credited during his acting career as John Barardino or John Barradino, but most notably as John Beradino, and best remembered for his long-running TV-role as 'Dr. Steve Hardy' (1963-1996) on the soap opera General Hospital.
