A 76-year-old woman died yesterday at 3:20 p.m. at York hospital where she had been a patient since she was struck by an automobile six weeks ago.
Mrs. Elsie M. Hoffman Riedel, 159 South Charles street, widow of Harry Riedel, was struck Nov. 8 while crossing Main street in Dallastown. Dr. H. Malcolm Read, county coroner, said an autopsy will be performed today to determine the cause of death.
Hospital attendants at the time of the accident listed her injuries as a fractured pelvis, possible head injuries and scalp cuts.
Mrs. Riedel was born in York township, near Leader's Heights, a daughter of the late William H. and Susan Paulus Hoffman. She was a member of Christ Lutheran church Sunday school, Dallastown, and the Ladies auxiliary of Dallastown Post 605, American Legion.
Mrs. Riedel had been residing with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Snyder, 159 South Charles street, Dallastown, since the death of her husband in 1953.
Surviving also are a son, Gerald H. Riedel, Jacksonville, Fla; four grandchildren, a great grandson, and one sister, Mrs. Erma Forry, 425 East Main street, Dallastown.
Rev. D. Timothy Robinson, Mrs. Riedel's pastor, will officiate at funeral services Saturday at 2 p. m. at Christ Lutheran church, Dallastown. Interment will be in Dallastown Union cemetery.
