Funeral services for Harvey Varner, 83, of Eros, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. Chad Ballard will officiate. Interment will follow at Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Varner was born July 19, 1932 in Jackson Parish, LA and passed away February 13, 2016 at his home in Eros, LA. He was retired from Riverwood Paper Mill as a Mobile Equipment Operator and he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Varner was a longtime member of Cypress Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Letha Varner; a brother, Max Varner; sisters, Mildred Browder, Sybil Waggoner and Doris Hammonds.

Mr. Varner is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie Waggoner Varner; daughter, Pat Magee and husband John; son, Glenn Varner; grandchildren; Taylor Varner, Justin Magee, Jacob Varner, Jesse Magee; sisters, Maribeth Pesnell and Diane Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Norma Massey and husband David, Margaret Waggoner; and special friends, J. W. and Eloise Knighten.

Pallbearers will be Justin Magee, Jacob Varner, Jesse Magee, Ronnie Massey, Chris Waggoner, and Marty Varner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Massey and the Adult II Men’s Sunday School Class.
