Sarah Edna "Edna" Storrs was the daughter of Fred Oakley Storrs and Adda Lottie Gibson. She married Wallace Ralph Thompson August 21, 1943 in Redwood City, CA. They were the parents of two daughters, Connie Gene Thompson and Karen Ann Thompson.
--------------------------

Sarah Edna Thompson died peacefully in her home, with her family by her side, on February 9, 2015. Edna was born on October 2, 1920 to Fred and Lottie Gibson Storrs. She was raised in Price, Utah. She was the fourth of seven children.

Shortly after graduating from Carbon High School, Edna moved to California. While working in San Francisco during World War II, she was reunited with W. Ralph Thompson, from Hiawatha, Utah, whom she had known in high school. Ralph was a handsome sailor, serving in the United States Navy. They were married on August 21, 1943 in Redwood City, California. The marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple.

Edna and Ralph settled in San Jose, California, where they had many happy years raising their daughters, Connie and Karen. Edna enjoyed working at the Macy's Department Store in San Jose. She also loved serving and making lifelong friends in the Los Gatos 1st Ward and San Jose 7th Ward.

Edna and Ralph moved to Orem, Utah in 1972, to be closer to their daughters who had recently graduated from BYU, and had started their families in the area. Edna loved working behind the cosmetic counter at the ZCMI until she retired. After retirement she enjoyed genealogy and traveling.

Edna was an active member of the LDS Church. Her favorite calling was being a bishop's wife while her husband served as bishop of a young single adult ward at BYU, and stake patriarch.

Edna's greatest joy was her family. She wanted nothing more than to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family more than a whole bag of Snickers. Second only to her family, Edna loved watching sports. She was a loyal fan of BYU and the San Francisco 49ers. She enjoyed the games the most if it was accompanied with a bowl of ice cream or peanut butter Cap'n Crunch!

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Karen Deschamps; son-in-law, Gerald Johnson; one brother, Art and four sisters: Donna Curtis, Irma Judd, Gene Pappas and Nan Baker. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Johnson; sister, Helen Cluff; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Orem Park 8th Ward Chapel, 114 South 400 West, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Sunday, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Monday, from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 12:00 noon, at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
