Son of Norman & Eleanor Burchardt.

Bill grew up in Blair and was confirmed at First Lutheran Church.
He graduated from Blair High School in 1970 and then married his High School Sweetheart, Patty on June 25-1972.
Daughter Valerie was born in 1974.

Bill farmed at Desoto National Wildlife Refuge with his father Norman and grandfather Nels until 1999. He worked several places. Bill was a people person.
He enjoyed visiting with customers and they enjoyed him.
He loved joking with his coffee buddies.
When he went out to eat he had to learn all about his waitress and they quickly became great friends.

Bill's passion was muscle cars and taking them to car shows. He also enjoyed going to antique shops and flea markets and finding the best bargains.
He loved his girls (dogs) Maddie, Phoebe and Sadie but had a great love for all animals.

Bill enjoyed most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Survived by his wife Patty, daughter Valerie (Brain) Houston, sister Jacque (Edwin) Belles, brother Edward (LuAnn) Buchardt, brother in law Jack (Claudia) Stewart, sister in law Pam (Arden) Rakosky, & sister in law De Jarosz.
