Dr. J. W. Harwell, formerly of San Antonio, and at one time nationally known as the discoverer of a method of treating cancer, died in Corpus Christi Monday evening. The body will be brought to San Antonio some time Wednesday by the A. A. Zizik Undertaking Company, and interred in the Alamo Masonic cemetery. The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.
Dr. Harwell lived in San Antonio about twenty years. Several years ago he removed to Corpus Christi which was his home up to the time of his death. Shortly after coming here he began treating cancer cases after a method which created wide attention. His treatment was discussed before medical conventions, but was never endorsed officially. He is survived by his widow and a number of relatives in various protions of Texas.
