Madge Wyche Doles, 92, of Plain Dealing, LA died Sunday, October 24, 1993 at the Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 2pm Tuesday, October 26 at the First Presbyterian Church in Plain Dealing, LA. Officiating were Rev. James H. Elder, Rev. Pat N. Easterling, and Rev. Kenneth L. Christy. Burial was in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Plain Dealing, LA.

Mrs. Doles was born in Bellevue, LA October 22, 1901. She moved to Plain Dealing in 1903 where she has since resided. She was a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish and a descendent of Pioneer Bossier families. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for 40 years and held many offices in the Women of the Church organization. She was a charter member of the Plain Dealing Chapter #176 Order of the Eastern Star.

In 1929, Mrs. Doles and her husband started Doles Insurance Agency in Plain Dealing, where she worked until her retirement in 1948. For many years, Mrs. Doles was active in volunteer organizations both in Plain Dealing and in Bossier Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Doles, Sr, her parents, John Hamiter and Roberta Meares Wyche, and her brother James E. Wyche.

Survivors included her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Doles, Jr. of Plain Dealing; four granddaughers, Mrs. Jay Jack Stone of Plain Dealing, LA, Mrs. John David Babb, Mrs. George P. Fritze, and Mrs. David L. Davis, all of Shreveport; two nieces, Mrs. A. M. Wyche of Plain Dealing, Mrs. Donald L. Brice of Minden, LA; one nephew, Judge Monty M. Wyche of Bossier City, and eleven great grandchildren.
