KERMIT L. "IKE" ISAACSON... Ike Isaacson passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2005 after a six month battle against cancer at his home in Orlando, Florida. A Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at Grace Fellowship Church in Costa Mesa, California. Internment will be May 23, 1 p.m. at Fort Rose-crans National Cemetary in San Diego, CA. Ike was born on December 3, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Kermit O. and R. Evelyn (Dowlin) Isaacson. He was raised in Sioux City, attended Central High School, attended school and played football on the Morningside College 1954 championship football team prior to his 1955 graduation from Morningside. After his service in the U.S. Marine Corps, he returned to his high school alma mater for ten years to teach and coach football. He was then recurited to open a new school in Southern California, where he taught. was head football coach and Athletic Director at Villa Park High School from 1963 to 1974. Ike then took on the position to manage the Disneyland Security and Fire Department until his retirement to Florida in 1989. Survivors include his wife Nan Isaacson, Orlando, Florida; 3 daughters and their husbands: Stacy and Kevin Healy, Newport Beach, California; Vicki and Bill Shannon, Durham, North Carolina; Amy and Scott Stern, Orlando, FL; one son and his wife, Robert and Tanya Isaacson, Oregon City, Oregon; 8 grandchildren; an Uncle and his wife, George and Mary Dowlin of Sioux City; 2 brothers ad their wives: Ray and Pat of Sioux City; Richard and Beverly of Greensboro, NC; 2 sisters and their husbands: Ruth Moore and Bill of Phoenix, AZ; Marilyn Sherwood and Ron of Big Bear City, CA, plus many nieces and nephews.
