He had lived in Hackettstown since 1972, coming from The Bronx, New York, where he was born and lived most of his life.
Mr. O'Connor retired in 1994 as a traffic manager for Kerr Steam Ship Co., Cranford, after 35 years of service. He was currently employed as an assembler with Buchannon Industries, Hackettstown.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army from 1953-55.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, Hackettstown, and a member of the national Korean War Veterans Association 5th R.C.T.
He was survived by his wife; two sons; one daughter; two sisters; and one granddaughter. His daughter, Joann Katrinak, and a grandson, Alex Martin Katrinak, died December 15, 1994.
A mass was held at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption. Burial was at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.
