Sheila Heinssen was born on August 16, 1963 in Blair, Nebraska to Dean and Carol Heinssen. She attended Blair Community Schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1981. She had a challenge with hearing, but that did not slow her down.

Sheila worked at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Blair, Nebraska for 34 years.

When weather permitted, she could often be seen riding her blue bicycle (with a basket) to work.

She worked in the kitchen and dining hall, and was so kind to the residents. She often had a smile, and cared about people, to see if they were comfortable and had all they needed.

Sheila was an avid reader, enjoyed riding her bike, Nebraska football and spending time with her nephew and nieces.

On Thursday, January 28, 2016 she came to work in the morning as usual. By noon she had passed away, most likely from a massive heart attack. We will sadly miss her.

Sheila Heinssen, age 52 of Blair, died January 28, 2016 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Left with memories are her mother Carol Heinssen, two sisters, two nephews and a niece, extended family, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will begin 4 pm Sunday, with family receiving friends 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair with graveside services following in the Blair Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Heinssen Family.

Pastor Shawn Linnell officiated and offered words of comfort. Katy Flynn was organist, and the congregation sang "Amazing Grace", "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and "On Eagles' Wings". Pallbearers were Rick Arnold, James Arnold, David Ruwe, Billie Ruwe, Andy Ruwe, Mike Livermore. A luncheon was served at the church following graveside services.

Sheila was a great person! She always had a kind good morning for me every day. She liked to tease me and I always called her, "Ornery" and she always called me, "Angel." She loved her Huskers and would have nothing to do with my Iowa State Cycones! I will miss seeing her. Sheila was a great part of Good Shepherd. You all have my deepest sympathy. Sheila will be missed by many! --
