British rugby international and politician. He played thirteen caps for Scotland between 1905 and 1911, and starred in the close victory over South Africa in 1906 when a crosskick of his led to a try. He later served in the Sudan Political Service before being elected an MP in 1931, and was President of the Scottish Rugby Union from 1939 to 1940. He died while taking part in a Home Guard exercise with the 1st County of London Battalion.
