William Frank Ables, College Street, Gadsden, passed away at the University Hospital in Birmingham Thursday after a short illness. Survivors, mother, Mrs. Minnie Ables and sister, Mrs. Mildred Raines, nieces and nephews. Funeral service at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel and burial in Crestwood Cemetery. He was a native a lifelong Etowah County resident, member of Glencoe Baptist Church and Foreman's Club at Republic Steel Corp. Veteran of World War II and foreman's in the tube mill at Republic Steel where he was employed since 1927. (excerpts from The Gadsden Times Friday, Sept. 16, 1966)
