Devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend.

Edward was born in Philadelphia a few months after the death of his father. He grew up in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia and was a proud member of St. Stephen's Parish as a child. His mother remarried after Ed's birth and his family continued to grow with the addition of the McCollum's. Ed graduated from Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in Lancaster, PA. after learning sheet metal work there. He worked at Sharpe and Flynn in Philadelphia where he met his wife to be, Ruth Gallagher. They married on August 26, 1944. They had two children, Janellen (b. 1953) and Edward (b. 1959). In 1952 they bought a row house in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia where they would live for the next 40 years. Ed worked for many years at ITE Corporation (eventually taken over by Gould corporation) as a sheet metal worker. Ed was a life-long devoted Philadelphia sports fan - his favorite teams were the Phillies and the Eagles. He also enjoyed golf which unfortunately he could not play in his later years but he still enjoyed following the professionals on TV. Ed and Ruth developed a close-knit group of friends in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia and St. Helena's Parish. He developed Parkinson's disease later in life and also suffered from hypertension. He died in 1996.
