Singer, Songwriter, Producer. During the 1960s and 1970s he recorded many songs including Nobody But You Babe. He also wrote and produced for artists such as Betty Wright, Sam & Dave, Gwen McCrae, Bobby Byrd, and KC & the Sunshine Band. He wrote sexually explicit versions of hit songs for fun but only performed them for his friends at parties or in the studio. Along with a band of studio musicians he recorded a whole album of dirty songs under the name Blowfly in 1971. Starting in 1973, he released close to 30 Blowfly albums. His final album, released in 2016, was called 77 Rusty Trombones. His albums were widely popular as "party records". In 1980 his explicit version of "Rapp Dirty" (also known as "Blowfly's Rapp") helped the album Blowfly's Party reach #26 on Billboard magazine's Black Albums chart and #82 on the Billboard Top 200 in 1980. On January 12, 2016, a statement was released stating that he was suffering from terminal liver cancer and had been admitted to a hospice facility in Florida.
