Airman Second Class Ronald John Milas, age 22, died on Thursday afternoon, March 13, 1969, at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver, Colorado, of cardiac arrest caused by acute diabetes. He had been ill for two days. His parents were called by Air Force officers on Wednesday, March 12, 1969, when the Airman's condition became critical; and they were at his side when he died. He had been attending a service school at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado, when he was taken to the military hospital. Airman 2-C Milas was born in Lorain, Ohio.

Airman 2-C Milas graduated in 1964 from Admiral King High School, 2600 Ashland Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. He attended Ohio University. Airman 2-C Milas enlisted in the United States Air Force in November, 1968. He was a special-electronics specialist.

He was a member of Saint Nicholas Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 West 40th Street, Lorain, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Allan J., who died in infancy in 1949.

The Reidy-Scanlan Funeral Home, Lorain, Ohio, was in charge of local arrangements. Calling hours and a Parastas service were held at the funeral home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, March 18, 1969, at the funeral home, followed by a Requiem Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 West 40th Street, Lorain, Ohio. Reverend Father Michael Felock, pastor, officiated. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio, where military rites were conducted by personnel of the United States Air Force.
