Marjorie E. "Marge" Anderson, 85, of Minden died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services were held at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden with the Rev. Dr. Berke Landrum officiating.
She was born Nov. 4, 1920, in southern Kearney County near Upland to Louis and Sena (Jensen) Hansen.
On June 27, 1942, she married Howard Anderson in Smith Center, Kan. He died in 1982.
Survivors include her son, John of Minden; daughter, Debra Granger of Minden; brother, Louis Hansen of Kearney; sisters, Dolores Martin of Kearney and Joan Nelson of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include daughter-in-law, Marty Anderson of Minden; son-in-law, Gary Granger of Minden; sister-in-law, Marian Hansen of Kearney; and brother-in-law, Richard Nelson of Lincoln.
She grew up in the Upland area and graduated from Upland High School.
She and her husband lived on the West Coast while her husband was in the military. After his discharge, they made their home in Minden.
They owned and operated Anderson Jewelry for many years. She continued to operate the jewelry store until 1986. At that time, she sold it to her daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Gary Granger.
She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden, was a church elder, Sunday school teacher and member of the Presbyterian Ladies, and sang in the church choir for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Nebraska/South Dakota Jewelers Association, and a member of the Jewelers of America and the Minden American Legion Auxiliary.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
