MRS. LLOYD R. STANLEY DEAD. FUNERAL SERVICES AT 3:30 TOMORROW AFTERNOON.

Mrs. Ada Stanley, wife of L.R. Stanley, president of the board of education, died yesterday afternoon, July 6, 1922, shortly after 4 o'clock at the family home, 220 West Third Street, Chanute, Kansas.

Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Fred Shaw, will be held at the Presbyterian Church tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, and burial will be made in Elmwood Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 o'clock until the hour of the funeral, after which the casket will be closed.

Mrs. Stanley has been critically ill for the past four months from valvular heart trouble. At times she rallied and there seem hope for her recovery, but physicians felt that there was little chance.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth, aged 14; her father, Charles Sater of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Curtis of Dodge City, KS.

Mr. And Mrs. Curtis are on the way here by motor. Mrs. C.B. Moffatt of Liberty, Kansas, sister of Mr. Stanley has been here the past week, and Mrs. Leon H. Stanley of Parsons, KS, Mr. Stanley's sister-in-law, came this morning. Mr. Stanley will arrive this evening from Parsons, KS.

Mrs. Stanley's maiden name was Ada Sater. She was born in Okeana, Ohio, and would have been 46 years of age on August 14 next.

She came to Kansas in 1885 with her parents and has lived here since.

She and Mr. Stanley were married April 12, 1903, and have resided in this city with the exception of a short stay in the west, and while they were in Erie, KS, Mr. Stanley was Register of Deeds for Neosho County, and Mrs. Stanley was his assistant.

Mrs. Stanley was active in club and social life, but her interest was in her home. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She was associate matron of Hulda Parker Chapter of the Eastern Star and was an active worker in the chapter. She was also a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security, in which order she was active.

News of her death last evening brought grief to scores of friends in the city who are today sympathizing with the family. Mrs. Stanley will be missed by many people, not only in the city, but in the community as well.
