Sr. Theodora was born A. Elizabeth Simon in St. Kilian Wisconsin to Conrad Simon and Catherine Muehr , the 5th of 8 children. She joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame May 23rd, 1879. She taught school, and according to her obituary " again and again received the commendation of being a good teacher and excellent disciplinarian and how we still hear that her classes were the best trained in any school". When she was in St. Louis, MO, she suffered heat stroke, which affected her both physically and mentally. She spent her last years in a hospital. She was 59 years old when she slipped away.
