Gruebmeyer died in the Emergency room of Joint Township Hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound...Born Jan. 5, 1923 in Shelby Cuunty he was the son of Henry and Leona (May) Gruebmeyer. His father survives near Botkins. He married Carole Dubois on March 16, 1946 who survives. Also surviving are two daughters and one son, Mrs. Gregore (Diane) Gast of New Bremen and Mrs. Allen (Gail) Mescher of Minster and Dennis at home; three sisters Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Moeller, Lima, Mrs. Donald (Irene) Seitz, Wapakoneta and Mrs. Kermit (Virginia) Heidt of Lima and two brothers, Harold and Virgil of New Knoxville. He was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, former owner and operator of a welding shop and member and fire chief on the New Bremen Volunteer Fire Dept., member of the Central Western Fireman's Association, American Legion Post 241, Home Benefit's Association and WWII veteran.
