Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. A gymnast, she earned a gold medal in the women's team all-around and received a silver medal in the women's team portable apparatus during the 1952 Summer Games in Helsinki. Following her Olympic career, she served as a coach of the national teams of Georgia and later the Soviet Union.
