The Cemetery was Originally Known as "Thomas Graveyard" when the Property was Owned by William Thomas; and later Changed to Minter Cemetery when the Minter Family Purchased the Property.

When Jacob Berry Moore, Jr. Purchased the 300 Acre Farm from the Minter Family, he chose to leave the name of the Cemetery as Minter Cemetery.
