Mary Ann Weaver was born in 1832 in North Carolina to Levi (Livey) Weaver and Mary Carpenter. By 1840, she and her family had moved to Alabama.
On April 5. 1851. she married Archibald Newton Stewart in Calhoun, Alabama. Together they had five children, four boys and one girl, all born in Alabama They were Samuel Lawson, Augustus, John Wylie, John Ross and Mary Susanna.
Archibald Stewart joined the Confederate army in Alabama and died as a prisoner in Illinois in 1864.
After 1870, Mary Ann came to Collin County, Texas along with two of her sons, Samuel and John Wylie and her daughter Mary Susanna.
She spent the remainder of her life in Texas
