Bert Keuning died at his home 3 miles west of Corsica, last Friday morning, May 19th, 1922. The cause of his death was cancer of the stomach, with which he had been suffering for many years.
Bert Keuning was born in Holland on Sept. 5th, 1873, and was 48 years, 8 months and 14 days of age at the time of his death. He came to America 30 years ago and has been a resident of this county ever since, with the exception of the first few months after his arrival, when he was in Iowa.
He was married in the county to Miss Dykstra, to which union twelve children were born, eight of whom are still living and who with the widow mourn the loss of a loving father and husband. He also leaves an aged mother, residing at New Holland, who during the past seven years has been called upon to mourn the death of four grown children.
The funeral services were held Monday, from the home at 1 o'clock and from the the Christian Reformed church in Corsica at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. S.P. Eldersveld and interment was made in Graceland cemetery.
