Gordon Freeman Stine, 94, of Dallas Center, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Son of Harry O. Stine and Rose Freeman Stine, Gordon was born September 21, 1909 in Spring Valley Township near Perry.
He grew up in Dallas County and graduated from Bouton High School in 1927.
On June 15, 1932, Gordon was united in marriage to Myrtle Leone Boyden in Boone. The couple lived near Minburn where Gordon was a dairy, hog,and grain farmer until retiring in 1972.
Gordon was a member of Minburn Methodist Church where he served as a board member. He and Myrtle were counselors for the Dallas County Rural Young Poeple. Gordon also served as a district director for the Iowa Dairy Council. In addition, his membership extended to the Minburn Community Club where he helped build the Minburn skating rink. He served as president and voting delegate of the Dallas County Farm Bureau.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; a brother, Roger; and a granddaughter, Karen Hunter.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hunter of Ames, Marilyn Webster of Story City and Norma Clayton on Humboldt; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister Ermafern Collins of Aurora, Colorado.
