Herbert Hiram Champlin, Sr. married his childhood sweetheart, Ary Delight Noble, on 14 NOV 1895 in McPherson, McPherson County, Kansas.
He came from McPherson, Kansas, and took part in the Land Run of Oklahoma on September 16, 1893, in the Cherokee Strip. He was a banker by profession, becoming owner of the First National Bank in Enid and establishing Champlin Oil and Refining Company in Enid, Oklahoma. In 1906, he represented Garfield County as a member of the Oklahoma Constitutional Convention, which was held in Gutherie (Oklahoma.)
They were the parents of four children:
1) Alice "Marie" Champlin, wife of Doyle White Cotton.
2) Helen Champlin, wife of David Jerauld Oven, Sr.
3) Joel "Joe" Noble Champlin, husbadn of Jane Gertrude Edwards.
4) Herbert Hiram Champlin, Jr. (Did not marry.)
