Louis Anger, well-known citizen of Leopold, died at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Friday night. The body was brought to Leopold Sunday. Funeral services were held at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church at Leopold. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Anger, who was 78 years old was well-known here and at other places in the county. He was a blacksmith for many years at Leopold and for a number of years hauled goods and freight from Leopold, before the days of trucks.
He had been in poor health for several years, suffering from asthma. Besides his widow, Mr. Anger is survived by five daughters.
Note: It appears he also ran a funeral home service for some unknown amount of years; as I have found his name on death certificates for some of the people buried in St. John's cemetery, as the mortician/funeral director. Since death certificates begin in Missouri in 1910 and he dies in 1935, his operation of this business must have been between 1910-1935.
