Richard M Morin, 79, died Thursday morning, December 17th of natural causes. A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Richard was a life-long Jewish educator and a warm and engaging individual. He enriched his Jewish home and his Jewish community. He spent his time, his talents and his affection to make everyone around him feel included in his circle of family and friends. Richard made a difference in the lives of those he touched.

Richard was a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Micah, an alumnus of Leadership Nashville, a member of the Executive Committee of the Davidson County Democratic Party and a diehard Red Sox fan. He graduated Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned a Masters Degree in religious education from the Scarritt-Bennett Center.

Richard was director of Jewish education at Temple Ohabai Sholom. He managed human resources training for Mayor Richard Fulton, was a director of Metro Head Start, served as executive director of National Association of Temple Educators (NATE) and Registrar for the Reform Jewish Educators Certification Program (RJE).

Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cynthia Morin, his children Jennifer and Matt Cassell of Dallas and Andrew Morin and Allison Cutler of Nashville and his grandchildren Sam and Mitch Cassell and Isabel and Josh Morin. He was preceded in death by his parents Israel and Edythe Roth Morin and sister Roberta Morin Aronowitz.

Internment at Congregation Micah, 2001 Old Hickory Boulevard, Brentwood, Tennessee.
