Alexander Y Black was born to David Black and Annis "Annie" (Young) Black. He lived in Kiskimentas Township Armstrong County. He was first married to Mary Boyd Eckman and had most of his children with her. Her date of death is not certain. It is known that he married a second time to Mary Miller by which death certificates of John and Joseph indicate her as the mother.
