"Sheryl Pratt Brown of Benson, Ariz., departed this world for the next on Dec. 12, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 2, 1946 in Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, at home to LaVern Whetten Pratt and Carl Barton Pratt. The majority of her childhood years were spent in Willcox. She graduated from Willcox High School and went on to the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she studied piano performance and music education. After completing a bachelor degree, she went on to spend many years teaching music in the public school setting to children in grades K-12. She spent many years directing concerts and choirs. Later in her career, she enjoyed teaching English, kindergarten, and reading.

She was married to her eternal sweetheart, H. Curtis Brown, on May 29, 1970 in the Mesa LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together they raised five children and treasured the one child they had but a brief five months in mortality.

Sheryl was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was well known for her diligent, cheerful, and tireless labor in the service of her Lord and Savior. She served in many areas of the Children's primary auxiliary program and in many capacities of bringing music into the worship setting of wards, stakes, and branches. She served two full-time missions alongside her husband. Together they served in the Texas Houston South Mission from 2007-2009, and spent much of their labor assisting those affected by Hurricane Ike. She and her husband went on to serve another full time mission in the Arizona Tucson Mission from 2011-2012. Most recently they filled a two-and-a-half year service mission to the Sunsites Branch under the direction of the Arizona Saint David Stake.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her infant son, Matthew. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, H. Curtis Brown. She is also survived by five of her children: Vern (Cindy), Trent, Sherrily Mulleneaux (Jean-Jacques), Sarah Turner (David), and Andrew (Melissa), as well as five grandchildren.

Sheryl will be greatly missed and always remembered by those who love her for her cheerful enthusiasm, tireless devotion, unconditional love, and musical talent. She is remembered by many for her ability to touch lives in such a personal way.

Services will be held on Dec. 19 in the St. David Stake Center, 481 N Pomerene Rd., in Benson. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the Pomerene Cemetery. Arrangements by Richardson's Remembrance Center, Benson."
