|Birth: ||Nov. 27, 1828|
|Death: ||Sep. 5, 1890|
William Peace, who died September 5, 1890, was born in Alabama, November 27th, 1828, and came to this county when about 14 years old. He is the party for whom Peace Valley was named.
Married Polly Hodges in the fall of 1850, and was one of the party employed to select swamps and overflowed land and was well acquainted with every line, section and corner in Sisson township. He knew all about fishing and killing deer and other game, and like nearly all old settlers, settled near a spring.
He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal South church for 15 years and died in the triumph of a living faith. Peace to his ashes and rest to his soul.
