Josephine Eustella Ryan was born on October 14, 1904, in Lamona, Washington. She was the daughter of Joseph Anthony Ryan and Mary Ann Hoffman, and the sister of William (Reverend William, SJ), Antoinette (Sister M. Avelina, IHM), Mary Bridgette (Sister Mary Clement, SP), Molley, Theresa Agnes "Tracy", John Joseph, and Joseph J. The family lived in North Dakota, Washinton, Idaho, and settled in Spokane, WA, in approximately 1940.
Josephine was a teacher in the Spokane public schools. She married Roy E. Johnson in 1947.
Josephine died in June of 1977 in Spokane, and was buried with her husband in the family cemetery, Holy Cross in Spokane, Washington.
