Sunrise and Guernsey are now in Platte County which was formed from northern Laramie County in early 1913. The Mitchell's son, William homesteaded in an area first called Junction; and later named Meadowdale, which has rural farms about 25 miles north of Guernsey: population 87 in 1900. It is still part of Laramie County.
Amelia passed away at the age of 47 years, 7 months, and 12 days. Sometime in 1920, her husband John joined her in the original cemetery, Lot 114, where the couple are in unmarked graves, 1 and 2.
