Shirley Marie Scroggins, 58, of Valparaiso, passed away at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois on Monday, July 19, 1999. She was born September 22, 1940 in Equality, Illinois, the daughter of Carroll and Ethel (Hopson)
Sullivan. A Valparaiso resident for 32 years, she was married on April 9, 1963 in Lake Station to Edgar J. Scroggins. She was a 1958 graduate of Hobart High
School and was employed as a qualified medical assistant for Whispering Pines Nursing Home for 20 plus years. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven. She is
survived by her husband Edgar J. Scroggins of Valparaiso; two sons, Gregory (Dawn) Scroggins of Lebanon, Ohio and James Scroggins of Cincinnati, Ohio, her mother, Ethel Sullivan of Cincinnati, Ohio, one brother, Wendall (LaDonna) Sullivan of Rockville, Indiana; one sister, Donna Sullivan of Cincinnati, Ohio; loving nieces,cousins, family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 22nd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Engel Funeral Home, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage. A funeral service will be Friday, July 23, 1999 at 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven, 760 North McCool Road, Valparaiso, with Pastor John Allen and Pastor Buzz Brown officiating.
