August Naffien was born Jan 4, 1882. He was the son of Wihelm Heinrich Krestleb Naffien. August was born in Germany and came to Linkville, Michigan America at about 2 years old. August was a farmer. He owned a farm by Linkville and upon retirement sold the farm and moved into Bay Port. On January 10, 1914 August Naffien married Emma Bock. Witness at the wedding were Otto Bock, Emmas Brother from Linkville, and Emma Nietzke from Sebewaing. .
August father William was married to a Schultz 1st marriage. (Listed on August marriage record). Williams second marriage was to Minnie (Wilhelmina) Hoffman in 1882. She was the mother of 2 children.On March 8, 1899, in Linkville, Michigan, Meala Naffien who was born @1879 and whose father was listed as William Naffien married John Link born 1867, son of Jacob Link and Regina Finkbinder in Canada. Ida Naffien and John Link were witness at the wedding. Ida Hoffman August sister was born 1879 Germany married Peter Buschlen in linkville, mi on June 12, 1907.

In 1930 Residence was in Linkville and August now age 48, had 9 of his 10 children .

August passed away at the Huron Health Center on June 30, 1962 at the age of 80 after a battle with Cancer. August was a member of the Linkville Luthern Church. August had 1 sister. Mrs Ida Buschlen from Gladwin.
