Lydia Vellucci, 85, of Dallas, Texas, who has relatives in Blair, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in Dallas.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Park Cities Presbyterian church Chapel in Dallas with the Rev. Paul Settle officiating.

Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Lydia was born March 29, 1913, in Hartford, Conn., to Giovanni and Immacolata Venditti.

She graduated from New Britain Normal School and Yale School of Music.

After teaching fifth grade, she was appointed music supervisor of the Hartford Public Schools.

She married Paul Vellucci, a prominent musician and director of the Hartford School of Music.

She was a fine pianist and singer and a much sought after piano teacher who taught privately for 68 years.

The couple had moved to Dallas, Texas. Mr. Vellucci served as the head of the Applied Arts Music School at Southern Methodist University.

Mr. Vellucci died in 1990.

Mrs. Vellucci was a member of the Agape Class, Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Sigma Alpha Iota, SMU Mothers Club, Craig Class, Criterion Book Club and Thesaurus Book Club.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Eloise and Jack Ostrander of Birmingham, Ala., and Paula-Jean and John O'Hanlon of Blair; four grandchildren, Katherine Farmer and Reese Farmer, Megan Kelly O'Hanlon and Reed Paul O'Hanlon; two sisters, Bianca Stevens and Christine Palmer Whitlock.

Memorials are suggested to the Paul Vellucci Scholarship Fund, Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, 75275.

Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas was in charge of arrangements.
