Maggie Topinko was born in Detroit, Michigan to Paul and Catherine (Zadereska) Topinko. She served with the Women's Army Corps as a private first class in 1944-45, during World War II.

She was married to Howard Clay Baker in Macon, Georgia, on Aug 23, 1945.

Maggie enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. She was a member of the American Legion in Seattle, Evergreen WAC Chapter, Sunbonnet Sue Quilters and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

The Baker's had two children: Jaye T. and Paul Joseph Baker, and four grandchildren.

Maggie's husband, Howard Clay Baker, was a gr-gr-grandson of Dr. James & America Ford of Wabash, Indiana.
