Ernest Long, 70, of Rochester, Is Called

Ernest Long, 70, life resident of the Rochester community, died at the home of his son, Clarence Long, in Rochester, Tuesday. He was born near Rochester Oct. 14, 1878. Funeral services were held at the Rochester M. E. church at 2
o'clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. Carroll, pastor officiating. Burial was in Bethel cemetery. Survivors include his widow and son.

Ernest Eugene Long was born in Iowa township, Cedar county, Iowa on the 14th day of October, 1878. His parents were Evan and Elizabeth Long. On March 5, 1899, he was united in marriage with Anna Everett, daughter of Charles and
Evelyn Everett, also of Iowa township. To this union was born one son, Clarence Long. Mr. Long lived in and around Rochester all of his life. In 1940 he was stricken with a heart attack and after eight years of illness, of which
in the past year was spent in bed, he passed away at his home Tuesday morning, August 17,1948, being at the time of his death 69 years,10 months and 3 days old. Those remaining to mourn his loss are his wife, son and daughter-in-law, of Rochester, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives
and friends. Mr. Long was buried at Pedee cemetery.
