The township of Blairstown New Jersey was named for J.I. Blair in 1839 along with several other towns Blair plotted in the midwest. Blairstown Iowa, Blairsburg Iowa, Blairstown Missouri, Blair Nebraska, and many other towns in the midwest were plotted by Blair while he was building his great Railroad expansion in the midwest as well as his railroad empire in his native New Jersey.
