Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. She was a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Track and Field. She competed at the Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany in 1936 and won gold medals in the 100 meter event and as the anchor of the Americans 4x100 meter relay team. She was inducted into the National and USA Track and Field Halls of Fame in 1975.
