married on January 1, 1846

According to the marriage notice above Simon married Rebecca Margaret Moyer in Mercersburg. In 1850 they were living in Mercersburg with their first daughter Amanda Jane who was born in Mercersburg. In 1860 Simon is living in Bedford County with wife Margaret, daughters Amanda, Laura and a Jacob Stoudenour was living with them. On Amanda's death certificate her mother is listed as Rebecca Moyer - on Charles Boyd Dickerhoff's death certificate his mother is listed as Margaret Stoudnour. In Margaret's obituary her parents are listed as Mr. and Mrs. George Stoudnour. This might lead one to believe that Margaret's mother was first married to a Moyer and Margaret was born to that union or was Simon married twice?

Windmills! Windmills!
The subscriber would respectfully inform his old customers, as well as the public generally, that he still continues the manufactory of windmills, and keeps them on hand constantly. He will also do all kinds of repairing in his line of business. As his mills are well known in Bedford county, he deems it unnecessary to say anything about them. His shop is as formerly, at the East end of Bedford, on Pitt Street, near the Foundry.
