Ruth M. Johnson age 86 of Hillsboro, formerly of Lynchburg, died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.

She was born March 20, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late John L. and Florence (Early) Alexander. She was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church and also member of the VFW Post 9094 Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Johnson of Lynchburg, John L. Johnson of Lebanon, two daughters, Karen Bagford of Winchester and Barbara Brock of Martinsville, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Johnson on April 1, 1988 and by two brothers, Myrl and Claire Alexander.

Services will be held 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial will follow in the Troutwine Cemetery.
