Clifton Wallace Blair, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the residence of his daughter. He was born May 29, 1935 in Gate City, VA to the late Robert Lee and Georgia Musick Blair.

Wallace was a kind, fun loving and hard working man who loved his family more than his own life. He was a steadfast husband, father, papaw and friend. His children will cherish his memory and hold him in their hearts forever. A simple man, Wallace’s favorite food was biscuits and gravy.

He was a man of faith who enjoyed singing, laughter and fellowshipping with his family and church family. Wallace was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church but was presently attending Grace Point Fellowship. He was also a member of the Teamster’s Union.

Wallace retired from Holliston Mills following forty-five years of service as a machinist.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Russell Blair; son-in-law, Bobby Head; brothers, Ed Blair and Emerson Blair; sister, Elmari Starnes.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 pm Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:30 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.

A Graveside Service will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Sermon On The Mount.

Serving as pallbearers, Mickey Sykes, Ralph Dorton, Jeremy Dorton, Brian Sykes, Randy Hammond and Steven Linkous.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Preston Place II Alzheimers Resource Center, 2303 North John B. Dennis Highway, Kingsport, TN 37660. Attention, Sharon Durnin.
