Dan was a wonderful person, always helping others. He was one of the most forgiving people I have ever known.

Dan Peppenger, 47, of Boulder, died peacefully in the mountains near Boulder Saturday morning, Aug. 19, 2006, of a heart attack.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1958, in Lewistown, to Levi Oliver Peppenger and Patricia Ann Adams. He was raised in the Judith Gap area and attended school there.
Dan married Catherine Ann Coe on Nov. 7, 1980. They were later divorced. He was a great outdoorsman, loved his family very much, enjoyed bow hunting with his friends, going to the cabin, fishing, or just spending time with his family.
He was a great father and grandfather. He so loved spending time with all he met. He loved life and was willing to help anyone in need. He will be truly missed by all.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Levi Peppenger.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Peppenger of Hardin; daughters, Melissa Carrie Peppenger and David Morsette of Helena, Laura Ann Caldwell of Helena, and Danielle Louise and Matt Swenson of Bozeman; sons, Benjamin Scott Peppenger of Belgrade and Jesse Ray Peppenger of Boulder; sisters, Vicki Samoya and Sherri of Anchorage, Alaska, Patricia Pitsch of Hardin, and Diane Wellington of Great Falls; brothers, Gary and Mark Peppenger of Alaska, and Bob Peppenger of Billings; and grandchildren, Richard and Gabriel Morsette, and Star and Dominick Caldwell, all of Helena.
Services for family only start at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Scott Funeral Home.
Memorial services begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Jefferson County Fairgrounds gazebo, south of Boulder. A luncheon will follow.
Memorials: Donations to the minor children's trust at First Boulder Valley Bank.
