Elizabeth Norris Is Dead; Nebraska Resident 40 Years
Resided in Brick community Before Moving to Ord

Elizabeth Belle Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cline, was born May 30, 1865, in Africa, Ohio, and passed from this life quietly in her sleep, Saturday morning, April 1, 1950, at the age of 84 years 10 months and 29 days.
She was married to C.E. Norris at Westerville, Ohio, Nov. 29, 1885. Three children were born to this union: Burton W. Norris of Denver, Colo.; Henry N. Norris of Ord; and Mrs. Margaret Lathrop of Blair, Nebr. She also leaves five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She had three sisters and four brothers, all of whom preceded her in death.
She also leaves on sister-in-law, Mrs. Boyd Woodall, and several nieces and nephews in Ord. She was confirmed in the Episcopal church when a young woman, and joined the Presbyterian church of Ord about 25 years ago. She was a member of the ladies of the G.A.R. Circle of Ord.
Mrs. Norris was a daughter of pioneers. Her father was one of the ;49ers, going to California to seek his fortune. He made two stakes while there but lost them both to marauding Indians. He went back to Ohio by way of Cape Horn. Mrs. Norris' grandfather on her mother's side of the family was a Virginia hatmaker.
Mr. and Mrs. Norris and their family came west to Nebraska in 1910, locating on a farm 1 ½ miles northwest of the Brick school, where they farmed until 1918, when they moved to Ord. Mr. Norris passed away in April 1944. Since then Mrs. Norris maintained her own home, and did her own cooking and sewing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 pm from the Ord Presbyterian church and burial was in the Ord cemetery beside her husband.
