Funeral Services for Edith “Elwanda” Burks, of Cullman, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery, with Bro. Wayne Jetton officiating.

Elwanda was born on December 1, 1943 and passed away at Cullman Health Care Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church, loved to read, write letters and talk on the phone. Spent many hours swinging on the front porch, piecing quilts and needlepoint; and was always her parents special child.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Criss A. & Martha Opal Sims Burks; and a brother-in-law, Harlan Smith.
Survivors include, 2 – Brothers – William E. Burks, Sr. & Kenneth E. (Shelia) Burks; one Sister – Martha Ann Smith all of Cullman; and a Host of Nieces & Nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family; and the family would like to thank the staff of Cullman Health Care Center for their care and concern for the past three plus years.
