Edna Lucile McGhee, 93, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at an Emporia hospital.
She was born April 14, 1920 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Mary Brainard Newlin.
Edna attended Emporia High School and graduated with the class of 1937. She was joined in marriage to Grover Howard Shull on May 6, 1941 in Yates Center, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1959. She married Clarence O. McGhee on October 7. 1963 in Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1973.
Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Madison and the First Christian Church of Emporia.
Survivors include nieces Chyrel Madden, Marcie Wilson, Jacque Stanley; nephews John Moore, Richard Mitchell, Leonard Newlin; great nieces and nephews; step grand-daughter Karen Kolavalli and her daughter Chhaya Kolavalli.
She was preceded in death by parents; five brothers Frank, Dave, James, Charles and Tom; sisters Evelyn Moore and Sarah Mitchell and a nephew Larry Moore.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday November 15, 2013 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow services at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton.
