Born at Lelant Town in the parish of St. Uny Lelant, daughter of John and Eliza (Glasson) Hampton, and christened in the parish church there on 23 March 1853. Named for her two grandmothers, Elizabeth Trewhella Glasson and Catherine Hawes Hampton, but always called by her middle name of Catherine. Married Frederick Trevenen, and immigrated to America on the S.S. Lady Lycette, landing in New York on 13 June 1873. Mother of Frederick, Edmund, James, Arthur, John and Dewey Trevenen, Ida M. Lehman, Carrie Harrison Custer and Mary Finan. Sister of Eliza, Richard, John, Joseph and Robert Hampton, Anne Scadden and Jane. Grave not marked.

Johnstown Tribune, Oct. 26, 1926:

"SOUTH FORK, Oct. 26 Mrs. Catherine (Hampton) Trevenen, aged 74 years, one of the best known residents of this town, died at her home at 6 o'clock last evening. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the late residence, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Ford, pastor of the local Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the South Fork Cemetery. George Bros., local undertakers, will have charge of the funeral.

Mrs. Trevenen was the widow of Frederick Trevenen, who passed away here 10 years ago. The deceased was born in England and came to this country 58 years ago. She had resided in South Fork for the past 38 years.

Mrs. Trevenen is survived by the following children: Frederick, at home; Mrs. Ida Lehman and James Trevenen, both of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Carrie Custer, Frank, John and Dewey Trevenen, all of South Fork; Arthur, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Mary Finan, of Swissvale. The deceased also leaves 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."
