Mary was married to Samuel Ely on October 28, 1659 in Springfield, MA. She is the youngest child of Robert Day and his second wife Edetha Stebbins. Samuel Ely died in Springfield, March 19,1692. After his death Mary married twice. First in Springfield, April 12, 1694 to Thomas Stebbins, he died in Springfield in 1695. December 11,1696 she married Deacon John Coleman of Hatfield. The headstones of Deacon John and Mary read:
Decon John Coleman Dyed on January ye 21 1711 aged 76 years and here buried.
Mary ye wife of Dec'n John Coleman Dyed on Oct. ye 17 1725 aged 84 years.
Samuel and Mary Ely had sixteen children, ten dying in infancy, or when quite young, leaving only six who attained maturity and had fiamilies.
