Donald "Jack" Hildreth, 83
YARMOUTH - Donald (Jack) Hildreth, 83, died on Oct. 4, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Freeport, on July 26, 1932, the son of Watson and Amy Hildreth. Jack graduated from North Yarmouth Academy and Portland Junior College. After college he enlisted and served in the United States Army Air Force. After discharge from the Army he went to work for St. Johnsbury Trucking Company where he was employed until his retirement. Finding he needed to keep busy, he went to work as a driver for Pape Chevrolet. Jack was an avid bird and rabbit hunter. He loved fishing, golfing, bowling and spending time with family. He was known for his dogs from Duke, through numerous Peters and most recent companion Cocoa. He was loved for his wit and humor and enjoyed practical jokes. His generosity was measured only by the depth of the friendships that he shared. Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Connie; sons, Marc and wife Karen, Dana and wife Patty, Dean and wife Patricia, John and wife Bonnie, George and wife Julie, only daughter Susan; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Hildreth, Allyson Semle, Melanie Sughrue and husband Garrett, Amy Reynolds and husband Jake, Diana Enman and husband Kyle, Donald Hildreth and fiancé Lauren, Katie Hildreth, Craig Hildreth, Jeffrey Hildreth, Julia Hildreth, Samuel Hildreth, Sean Lupsewicz; six great-grandchildren, Elanor and Everet Semle, Ryker and Hayden Sughrue, and Landon and Amelia Reynolds. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Jill) O'Hara and husband Frank; and many extended family members. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 326 Main St., Yarmouth. A reception will follow immediately in the church.
