JOSEPH RYZLIK, 83, IS DEAD

Joseph Ryzlik, 83, died at a Fremont hospital Friday morning after having been in failing health for the past year.

Mr. Ryzlik was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States when he was about 21, with his bride. The couple settled in Omaha where Mr. Ryzlik worked for the Omaha Smelter Company for 15 years, then moving to a Burt County farm near Herman where they farmed on the same place for 46 years.

Ryzlik retired from active farming about 20 years ago but remained on the home place where his son is now farming.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Omaha and of the Modern Woodman.

Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Mary Parsley of Granada, Colorado, Miss Anna Ryzlik of Norfolk, Nebraska, Frank Ryzlik of Fremont, Joe of Blair, and John of Herman, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Baker of Arlington. His wife and a son preceded him in death. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Tekamah. Rev. W.J. Borer of Tekamah officiated at the Requiem Mass.

Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery in Omaha.

(typist's note: It seems that an alternate spelling of the surname was also used by some family members: Reyzlik, Ryzlik, Reyzlick)
